Porcelain Flower Series 2021- Current

Porcelain Flowers and Streaming Flowers, are 3d lentiucular media prints that are a mash-up of my paintings from the series Counting. The oil paintings were sourced and paintied from porcelain vases and objects found in various world museum collections. This process began early in 2020 during the pandemic, as a desire to find a universal message of homage and condolence to a world undergoing immense change; especially as I myself began counting reports on the news, and from friends of their encounters with the pandemic. In the 3d lenticular media works I combine sections of the flower paintings with studio drawings of construction sites (New York City, San Francisco, Kansas City, MO, and Omaha, NE) The construction drawings grew out of larger projects started in 2017 to 2021; and grew to use large ink drawings of my period-room installation projects.  The two themes of flora and construction became the nexus to reweave the lenticular media by streaming the paintings and drawings into an algorythmic, layered narrative conversing with time-frames of transformation
